(1) In this section:
federal judicial officer means—
(a) a judge of the Federal Court; or
(b) a judge of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2).
(2) A function given to a federal judicial officer by this Act is given to the federal judicial officer in a personal capacity and not as a court or a member of a court.
(3) The federal judicial officer need not accept the function given.
(4) Anything done or made by a federal judicial officer under this Act has effect only because of this Act and is not to be taken by implication to be done or made by a court.
(5) A federal judicial officer exercising a function under this Act has the same protection and immunity as if the officer were exercising that function as, or as a member of, the court of which the federal judicial officer is a member.
