CRIMES ACT 1900 - SECT 297
After trial for offence, if alternative verdict possible, no further
prosecution No person tried for an offence, in any case where under this Act
he or she may be acquitted of the offence but be found guilty of some other
offence, shall be liable to prosecution on the same facts for the other
offence.
