(1) The director-general must ensure, as far as practicable, that the conditions for doing community service work comply with requirements under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011
in relation to work by workers.
(2) In particular, the director-general must ensure that arrangements for an offender do to community service work take account, as far as practicable, of the need—
(a) to secure the health, safety and welfare of the offender; and
(b) to protect people at or near community service work workplaces from risks to health or safety arising out of the activities of the offender.
(3) A regulation may provide for the application of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011
in relation to community service work,
including modifications of the Act in its application in relation to an
offender doing community service work.
