In this Act:
"child victim", of an offence, means a victim of an offence who is a child.
Note A child is an individual under 18 years old (see Legislation Act
, dict, pt 1, def "child").
"parent", of a child, means a person with parental responsibility for the child within the meaning of the Children and Young People Act 2008
, division 1.3.2 (Parental responsibility).
"victim"—
(a) has the meaning given by the Victims of Crime Act 1994
, section 6; and
(b) includes a person who would be a victim if a reference in that Act to an offence included a reference to an offence that is alleged to have been committed.
