Australian Capital Territory Current Acts Australian Capital Territory Current Acts(1) This Act does not affect the taking, retention or use of forensic material, or information obtained from forensic material, if the taking, retention or use of the material is authorised under another territory law or a law of the Commonwealth or a State.
(2) Without limiting subsection (1), this Act does not limit or exclude the Crimes Act 1900
, part 10 (Criminal investigation) or part 11 (Investigation of extraterritorial offences).
(3) Forensic material, or information obtained from it, that was taken in accordance with a law of the Commonwealth or a State may be retained or used in the ACT for investigative, evidentiary or statistical purposes even if its retention or use would, apart from this subsection, constitute a breach of, or failure to comply with, any provision of this Act relating to the carrying out of forensic procedures.
