Australian Capital Territory Current Regulations Australian Capital Territory Current Regulations(1) Subsection (2) applies to the employment or engagement of a person who will have contact with eligible victims.
(2) The commissioner must—
(a) be satisfied that the person has—
(i) qualifications or experience in working with victims and with people from a diversity of ethnic and cultural backgrounds; and
(ii) experience or knowledge of working in a multidisciplinary team environment; and
(b) assess and evaluate the victims services the person provides; and
(c) encourage the person to undertake continuing education in the provision of services to victims; and
(d) take steps to ensure the person is familiar with the href="http://www.legislation.act.gov.au/a/2005-40" title="A2005-40">Human Rights Commission Act 2005
.
(3) The commissioner must take reasonable steps to ensure that a person employed or engaged by the Territory who has been convicted of a serious crime does not have contact with an eligible victim.
