Australian Capital Territory Numbered Regulations Australian Capital Territory Numbered Regulations(1) A deposit-taking cooperative must not obtain financial accommodation by accepting deposits of money from people other than its members and employees.
Maximum penalty: 10 penalty units.
(2) An offence against subregulation (1) is a strict liability offence.
(3) Subregulation (1) does not prevent a cooperative from accepting deposits of money from a person who had money deposited with the cooperative immediately before the commencement of this regulation.
(4) Subregulation (3) and this subregulation expire 3 years after the day they commence.
