DANGEROUS SUBSTANCES (EXPLOSIVES) REGULATIONS 2004 (NO 10 OF 2004) - REG 188

Blasting permit applications—Act, s 50 (2)

An application for a blasting permit for a blasting operation to be carried out by a shotfirer at premises must include the following information and documents:

        (a)     the name, business address and telephone number of the applicant;

        (b)     documentation describing a safety management system (including a blast plan) for the blasting operation;

Note     Reg 189 sets out the information to be included in a blast plan.

        (c)     a copy of any documents, including engineering and similar reports, to which the applicant or the responsible shotfirer has access, about—

              (i)     the use of explosives at the premises; and

              (ii)     if the proposed use of the explosives is in relation to the demolition of all or part of a building or structure—the demolition of the building or structure;

        (d)     details of any other information the applicant or the shotfirer knows that is material to the application;

        (e)     a consent signed by the shotfirer for—

              (i)     a police officer to make inquiries about the shotfirer's criminal record; and

              (ii)     for the shotfirer to be examined, if necessary, under regulation 190;

        (f)     any other information or documents required by a form for the application approved under the Act, section 222.
