(1) In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears—“Act” means the Firearms Act 1996; “government agency” means a public authority, government department or any other person or body determined by the Registrar to be a person or body to whom this definition applies; “initial application”, in relation to a category of licence, means an application from a person who does not already hold that category of licence; “reserved area” has the same meaning as in the Nature Conservation Act 1980.

(2) In these Regulations, a reference to a category A, category B, category C, category D or category H firearm shall be read as a reference to a firearm to which the corresponding category of licence applies.
