Australian Capital Territory Numbered Regulations Australian Capital Territory Numbered Regulations(1) A person must not install a septic tank or a chemical toilet unless an authorised officer has given permission under this regulation.
Maximum penalty: 10 penalty units.
(2) The occupier of a place may apply to an authorised officer for permission to install a septic tank or chemical toilet at the place.
(3) An application must be in the approved form.
(4) An authorised officer must, on application for the installation of a septic tank or chemical toilet—
(a) give permission; or
(b) refuse to give permission.
(5) An authorised officer may, by written notice given to an applicant, require the applicant to provide additional stated information or documents that the authorised officer reasonably needs to decide the application.
(6) An authorised officer is not required to decide an application until the applicant complies with a requirement to provide additional information or documents.
