(1) The applicant must tell the Magistrates Court about any relevant family contact order, or a pending application for such an order, of which the applicant is aware.
(2) The failure of the applicant to comply with subregulation (1) does not affect the validity of the protection order.
Note about relationship with Family Law Act
The Family Law Act 1975 (Cwlth), pt 7, divs 10 and 11 deal with the
relationship between family violence orders and contact orders within the
meaning of that part. In particular, s 68J imposes an obligation on certain
people to inform the court of any family violence orders (including domestic
violence orders) and under s 68S certain people may apply for a declaration of
the extent to which a contact order is inconsistent with a family violence
order.
