Australian Capital Territory Numbered Regulations Australian Capital Territory Numbered Regulations(1) A person must not take a dog, cat, bird or any other animal into a taxi unless the animal is suitably confined in a box, basket or other container.
Maximum penalty: 5 penalty units.
(2) Subregulation (1) does not apply to—
(a) an animal accompanying a person with a disability that is trained to help the person to alleviate the effect of the disability; or
(b) an animal that is being trained to help to alleviate the effect of a disability.
