(AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS
EXPLANATORY STATEMENT
No. 21 of
1986
Section 56 of the Bookmakers Ordinance 1985 (“the Ordinance”)
provides that the Minister may make regulations prescribing all matters which
are required or permitted to be prescribed or which are necessary or convenient
to be prescribed for carrying out or giving effect to the Ordinance, and in
particular may make regulations relating to the keeping of records by
bookmakers, and prescribing penalties not exceeding $500 for offences against
the regulations.
Regulation 3 of the Bookmakers Regulations is amended by
adding a new sub-regulation (2) prescribing the particulars to be entered in the
Register for the purpose of section 36A of the Ordinance as the name and address
of the applicant, the period in respect of which the licence is to be in force,
the licence number, the date on which the licence was issued, and the kind of
race meetings to which the licence relates.
