CASINO CONTROL AMENDEMENT REGULATIONS
2003 (No 1)
Subordinate Law SL2003 - 3
The Casino Control Amendment Regulations 2003 are made under section 4 of
the Casino Control Act 1988. The purpose of this amendment is to revoke
all existing instruments that designate areas to be the casino and implement new
designated areas to be the casino. The previous designation is varied on Level
0 by excluding (nondesignating) the area which the ACTTAB facility is to occupy
and including within the new designation that area where the ACTTAB facility was
previously located.
Clause 2 explains that the regulations commence the day after they
are notified.
Clause 3 explains that the regulations amend the
Casino Control Regulations 1992.
Clause 4 inserts regulations 5
and 6 into the Casino Control Regulations 1992. Regulation 5 designates the
areas to be the casino. These are outlined in bold on the plan in schedule 1,
part 1.1, part 1.2 and part 1.3. The ACTTAB area is a nondesignated area as
described in schedule 1, part 1.3, an expanded view of which appears in schedule
1, part 1.4.
Regulation 6 revokes the instruments that previously
designated areas to be the casino, namely –
§ Special Gazette No S150 dated 5 July 1994;
and
§ Special Gazette No S44 dated 16
February 1997.
This explains that regulation 6 expires the same day it
commences.
Clause 5 inserts schedule 1, which contains the plans
for the areas designated as the casino (part 1.1, part 1.2 and part 1.3) and the
area not designated as the casino (part 1.4), into the Casino Control
Regulations 1992.
