EXPLANATORY STATEMENT


No. 19 of 1986

The Credit Ordinance 1985 regulates the provision of credit in the Australian Capital Territory. In particular the Ordinance regulates contracts under which credit is provided and requires persons connected with the provision of credit to be licensed or registered. The Credit Regulations (Amendment) will amend Schedule 1 of the Credit Regulations by repealing Form 10 and inserting a new Form 10 identical in layout to the Form 10 used in New South Wales. This will ensure uniformity in the legislation of the States and the Australian Capital Territory.
