EXPLANATORY STATEMENT
No. 22 of 1986
Section 66 of the Long Service Leave (Building and Construction
Insdustry) Ordinance 1981 empowers the Minister to make regulations, not
inconsistent with the Ordinance, prescribing all matters which by the Ordinance
are required or permitted to be prescribed or which are necessary or convenient
to be prescribed for carrying out or giving effect to the Ordinance. This
includes the power to prescribe awards for the purposes of the definition of
“building and construction work” in sub-section 3 (1) of the
Ordinance.
Regulation 2 of the Long Service Leave (Building and
Construction Industry) Regulations lists those awards which are prescribed. The
Regulations (Amendment) adds a new paragraph (ca) to include the Draughtsmen,
Planners and Technical Officers (ACT) Award 1982 as a prescribed
award.
Details of the Regulations (Amendment) are as
follows:
Regulation 1 provides for the amendment to come into effect on 1
November 1986.
Regulation 2 inserts new paragraph “(ca)
Draughtsmen, Planners and Technical Officers (ACT) Award 1982,” after
paragraph (c) in Regulation 2 of the Long Service Leave (Building and
Construction Industry) Regulations.
