OPTOMETRISTS REGULATIONS (REPEAL) (NO. 16 OF 1986)
AUSTRLIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY
OPTOMETRISTS REGULATIONS
(REPEAL)
EXPLANATORY STATEMENT
No. 16 of 1986
The repeal of the Optometrists Regulations is required as part of a review of
the Optometrists Ordinance, 1956. The Optometrists Regulation only provided for
fees for matters under the Ordinance.
The substance of the regulations is
carried out by the Optometrists (Amendment) Ordinance, 1956. Pursuant to new
section 47AE the fees are to be determined by the Minister by written notice in
the Gazette. This change is in line with other ACT legislation as a result of
an amendment to the Seat of Government (Administration) Act, 1910 to reduce the
workload of the legislative draftsman.
