SUPREME COURT (REMUNERATION) AMENDMENT REGULATIONS 2003 (NO 1)

SUBORDINATE LAW No SL2003-44

Outline

This amendment to Regulation 3 will change the remuneration for acting judges from $1000 per day to 0.49% of the annual salary of resident judges in the Supreme Court (this currently equates to $1162 per day). The ACT rate has not been altered in eight years and is now out of step with rates in NSW. The proposed rate of 0.49% is in line with the NSW formula for acting judges.

Clauses

Regulation 3 - Remuneration: An acting judge will now be paid 0.49% of the annual salary of a resident judge.
