Commonwealth Consolidated Acts Commonwealth Consolidated Acts(1) Any discovery, invention or improvement of or in any process, apparatus or machine made by an officer or employee of the Institute in the course of his or her official duties is the property of the Institute and may be made available by the Institute on such conditions and on payment of such fees or royalties, or otherwise, as the Institute, determines.
(2) An officer or employee of the Institute shall not, except with the consent in writing of the Council, make application for a patent for an invention that is made by him or her in the course of his or her official duties or that relates to any matter or work connected with his or her official duties.
