Commonwealth Consolidated Acts Commonwealth Consolidated Acts(1) There shall be a Director - General of Security, who shall be appointed by the Governor - General and shall hold office, subject to this Act, on such terms and conditions as the Governor - General determines.
(2) Before a recommendation is made to the Governor - General for the appointment of a person as Director - General, the Prime Minister shall consult with the Leader of the Opposition in the House of Representatives.
