Commonwealth Consolidated Acts Commonwealth Consolidated Acts(1) A member (other than a temporary member) is to be appointed for the period (not longer than 5 years) specified in the instrument of appointment but is eligible for reappointment.
(2) A member holds office on such terms and conditions (if any) in relation to matters not provided for by this Act as are determined by the Governor - General.
(3) A member must not hold office as a member for a total of more than 7 years.
