Commonwealth Consolidated Acts Commonwealth Consolidated Acts(1) The members of a management advisory committee are to be appointed by the Authority.
(2) The appointment of a person as a member of a management advisory committee is not invalid because of a defect or irregularity in connection with the person's appointment.
(3) The Authority must try, as far as practicable, to ensure that the membership of a management advisory committee includes:
(a) an appropriate number of members engaged in, or with experience in, the industry in the fishery in relation to which the management advisory committee is established; and
(b) an appropriate number of members engaged in, or with experience in, recreational fishing in that fishery.
(4) Nothing in this Division requires the Authority to appoint a particular person or a representative of a particular group of persons, or of a State or Territory, to be a member of a management advisory committee referred to in paragraph 60(1)(c).
