Commonwealth Consolidated Acts Commonwealth Consolidated Acts(1) If an investigator has reasonable grounds to believe that a person has custody or control of any books, accounts or documents relevant to the investigator's investigation, the investigator may, by written notice given to the person, require the person to produce any or all of the books, accounts or documents to the investigator.
(2) The notice must specify the day by which the books, accounts or documents are to be produced (which must be at least 14 days after the day the notice is given to the person).
(3) A person commits an offence if:
(a) the person is required to produce books, accounts or documents in accordance with a notice given to the person under subsection (1); and
(b) the person fails to comply with the requirement.
