INTELLIGENCE SERVICES ACT 2001 - SECT 24

Acting Director - General of ASIS

  (1)   The Minister may appoint a person to act as the Director - General of ASIS if there is a vacancy in the office of the Director - General.

Note:   For rules that apply to acting appointments, see section   33A of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901 .

  (2)   The Minister may appoint a person to act as the Director - General of ASIS during any period, or during all periods, when the Director - General is absent from duty or from Australia or is, for any reason, unable to perform the duties of the office.
