Commonwealth Consolidated Acts Commonwealth Consolidated Acts(1) A maritime officer may enter onto land.
(2) If the person in charge of the land requ est s the officer to produce identification, the officer must produce :
(a) the officer's identity card; or
(b) other written evidence of the fact that the officer is a Commonwealth officer .
(3) If the officer fails to produce the identity card or other written evidence, the officer must:
(a) leave the land; and
(b) not re - enter the land without producing the identity card or other written evidence.
(4) Subsections ( 2) and (3) do not apply if the officer is one of the following in uniform:
(a) a member of the Australian Defence Force;
(b) an officer of Customs (within the meaning of the Customs Act 1901 );
(c) a member or special member o f the Australian Federal Police;
(d) an officer prescribed by the regulations.
