Commonwealth Consolidated Acts Commonwealth Consolidated Acts(1) An exploration licence holder may apply to the Joint Authority for a retention licence over blocks within the exploration licence area.
(2) A person may apply for a retention licence over a group of blocks only if:
(a) the group forms a discrete area; and
(b) there are not more than 20 blocks in the group.
(3) The exploration licence holder may apply for 2 or more retention licences over different parts of the exploration licence area.
