Commonwealth Consolidated Acts Commonwealth Consolidated Acts(1) Sections 1, 2, 3, 13, 16, 30, 31 and 32 and Part V shall come into operation on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent.
(2) Secti ons 5, 6 and 7, subsections 12(1), 15(1) and 17 (1), sections 18 and 19 and subsection s 20(1), 29(1) and 33 (1) shall come into operation on the day on which Part II of the Protection of the Sea (Prevention of Pollution from Ships) Act 1983 comes int o operation.
(3) Sectio ns 8, 9 and 10, subsection s 12(2), 15(2), 17(2) and 20 (2), sections 21, 22, 23 , 24 and 25 and subsection s 29(2), 33 (2) and 34 (1) and (2) shall come into operation on the day on which Part III of the Protection of the Sea (Prevention of Pollution from Ships) Act 1983 comes into operation.
(4) The remaining provisions of this Act shall come into operation on such respective days as are fixed by Proclamation.
(5) The day fixed under subsection (4) for the coming into operation of a provision of Part IV, shall not be a day earlier than the day on which the Protocol of 1992 to amend the International Convention on Civil Liability for Oil Pollution Damage, 1969 com es into force for Australia.
