Commonwealth Consolidated Acts Commonwealth Consolidated Acts(1) The responsible party for the launch or return of a space object is liable to pay compensation for any damage the space object causes to a third party:
(a) on Earth; or
(b) as a result of damage to aircraft in flight.
(2) However, the responsible party is not liable to the extent that the responsible party establishes that the damage resulted from:
(a) the gross negligence of the third party; or
(b) any conduct (whether by act or omission) that the third party engaged in with intent to cause the damage.
