Commonwealth Consolidated Acts Commonwealth Consolidated Acts(1) An authority that, immediately before the commencement of this Act, was a prescribed authority for the purposes of subsection 8(2A) of the Australian Federal Police Act 1979 is taken to be declared by the Minister to be an approved authority for the purposes of the definition of approved authority in section 3 of this Act.
(2) Persons who were, immediately before the commencement of this Act, included in the program operated by the Australian Federal Police and known as the witness protection program become participants on that commencement.
(3) To avoid doubt, an identity provided to a person under the program mentioned in subsection (2) is taken, for the purposes of this Act, to have been provided under the NWPP.
