28 Miscellaneous powers
(1) Without limiting its other powers, the District Court may do any one or
more of the following-- (a) it may specify the proclaimed place (within the
meaning of the District Court Act 1973 ) at which the hearing of an appeal or
application for leave to appeal is to be heard or continued,
(b) it may
specify the sitting at which the hearing of an appeal or application for leave
to appeal is to be heard or continued,
(c) it may adjourn the hearing of an
appeal or application for leave to appeal.
(2) In determining an appeal, the
District Court may exercise any function that the Local Court could have
exercised in the original Local Court proceedings.
(3) Subject to section 70,
the District Court may make such order as to the costs to be paid by either
party (including the Crown) as it thinks just.
