Revocation of warrants
240 Revocation of warrants
(1) Any warrant to arrest a person may be revoked by a Judge, Magistrate or
authorised officer if-- (a) the party who requested the warrant applies to the
Judge, Magistrate or authorised officer to revoke the warrant, or
(b) the
Judge, Magistrate or authorised officer is of the opinion that it is
appropriate to do so.
(2) A Judge, Magistrate or authorised officer may
revoke a warrant even though it was issued by another Judge, Magistrate or
authorised officer. A Magistrate may not revoke a warrant issued by a Judge.
An authorised officer may not revoke a warrant issued by a Judge or
Magistrate.
