(1) Intimate forensic procedures to which Part applies This Part applies to the following intimate forensic procedures--(a) the taking of a sample of blood,(b) the carrying out of an other-administered buccal swab.
(2) Non-intimate procedures to which Part applies This Part applies to the following non-intimate forensic procedures--(a) the taking of a sample of hair other than pubic hair,(b) the taking of a hand print, finger print, foot print or toe print,(c) the carrying out of a self-administered buccal swab.
(4) A person is authorised to carry out a forensic procedure under this Part on a person who is serving a sentence of imprisonment for a serious indictable offence in a correctional centre or other place of detention whether or not the offender was convicted of the offence before or after the commencement of this section.
