The Parliament of Queensland enacts-- 1
PART 1--PRELIMINARY 2
1 Short title
Clause 3
This Act may be cited as the Parliamentary Committees and Criminal 4
Justice Amendment Act 2001. 5
PART 2--AMENDMENT OF PARLIAMENTARY 6

This part amends the Parliamentary Committees Act 1995. 9
3 Amendment of s 4A (Membership of statutory committees)
Clause 10
(1) Section 4A(1)-- 11
omit, insert-- 12
`(1) A statutory committee must consist of 7 members nominated as 13
follows-- 14
(a) 4 members nominated by the member who is recognised in the 15
Legislative Assembly as the Leader of the House; 16
(b) 3 members nominated by the member who is recognised in the 17
Legislative Assembly as the Leader of the Opposition.'. 18
(2) Section 4A(2), `member mentioned in subsection (1)(a)'-- 19
omit, insert-- 20
`member who is recognised in the Legislative Assembly as the Leader of 21
the House'. 22

6 Amendment of s 116 (Membership of parliamentary committee)

(1) Section 116(1)-- 14
omit, insert-- 15
