CRIMINAL CODE 1899 - SECT 100
Hindering or interfering with voting conduct
100 Hindering or interfering with voting conduct
(1) A person who, in order to hinder or interfere with another person’s
voting conduct— (a) acts fraudulently; or
(b) uses or threatens to use
force against any person; or
(c) causes or threatens to cause a detriment to
any person;
commits a misdemeanour. Penalty— Maximum penalty—1
year’s imprisonment.
(2) A person who causes or threatens to cause a
detriment to another person (the
"affected person" ) because of the voting conduct of any person (whether or
not the affected person) commits a misdemeanour. Penalty— Maximum
penalty—1 year’s imprisonment.
(3) In this section—
"voting conduct" of a person means— (a) the person’s voting or not voting
at an election; or
(b) the way in which the person votes at an election.
