CRIMINAL CODE 1899 - SECT 616
Defence by counsel
616 Defence by counsel
(1) Every person charged with an offence is entitled to make the person’s
defence at the person’s trial and to have the witnesses examined and
cross-examined by the person’s counsel.
(2) In this section—
"counsel" includes any person entitled to audience as an advocate.
