CRIMINAL PRACTICE RULES 1999 - REG 104
Application to judge
(1) This rule applies to the following applications in which a judge may
exercise the court’s powers— (a) an application for leave to appeal;
(b)
an application for leave to make a subsequent appeal;
(c) an application for
extension of time in which a notice of appeal or of application for leave to
appeal may be given;
(d) an application under rule 75 for leave for an
appellant to be present at the hearing of a relevant proceeding;
(e) an
application under the Code , section 671B(1)(a), (b), (e) or (f).
(2) Unless
the court directs otherwise, the application must, in the first instance, be
decided by the judge.
