CRIMINAL PRACTICE RULES 1999 - REG 65
Application for leave to appeal
(1) An applicant for leave to appeal must file a notice of application for
leave to appeal with the registrar.
(2) The notice must— (a) be signed by
the applicant or the applicant’s lawyer; and
(b) state, briefly and
precisely, the grounds of the appeal.
(3) If the notice is not filed in the
appeal period, the applicant must also file with the registrar— (a) a notice
of application for extension of time for filing the notice of application for
leave to appeal; and
(b) an affidavit setting out the evidence in support of
the application.
(4) If the court gives the applicant leave to appeal, the
notice of application for leave to appeal is taken to be a notice of appeal
filed under rule 66 .
