CRIMINAL PRACTICE RULES 1999 - REG 84
Application for leave to appeal
(1) An applicant for leave to appeal must file a notice of application for
leave to appeal with the registrar.
(2) The notice must— (a) be signed by
the applicant or the applicant’s lawyer; and
(b) identify the judgment
against which the appeal is brought; and
(c) state, briefly and precisely—
(i) the grounds of the appeal; and
(ii) why the Court of Appeal should grant
a further appeal to the court from the District Court.
(3) If the court gives
the applicant leave to appeal, the applicant is taken to have started the
appeal.
