27—Legal protection of examiners, counsel and witnesses
(1) An examiner has,
in the performance of his or her functions or the exercise of his or her
powers as an examiner in relation to an examination before the examiner, the
same protection and immunity as a Justice of the High Court.
(2) A legal
practitioner assisting the ACC or an examiner or representing a person at an
examination before an examiner has the same protection and immunity as a
barrister has in appearing for a party in proceedings in the High Court.
(3) Subject to this
Act, a person summoned to attend or appearing before an examiner as a witness
has the same protection as a witness in proceedings in the High Court.
