9—In informations more than one overt act may be charged
(1) It shall be lawful
in any information under section 7 to charge against the offender any
number of the matters, acts or deeds by which the compassings, imaginations,
inventions, devices or intentions were expressed, uttered or declared.
(2) If the facts or
matters alleged in an information under section 7 amount in law to
treason, the information shall not for that reason be deemed void, erroneous
or defective and, if the facts or matters proved on the trial of any person so
informed against amount in law to treason, the accused person shall not for
that reason be entitled to be acquitted of the offence charged, but no person
tried for that offence shall be afterwards prosecuted for treason on the same
facts.
