(1) A
forensic procedure authorised under this Division is a
"volunteers and victims procedure".
(2) A
forensic procedure may be carried out on a person under this Division
if—
(a) the
procedure is not being carried out on the person in connection with the person
being suspected of a serious offence; and
(b)
either—
(i)
the relevant person consents to the procedure in
accordance with section 8; or
(ii)
a senior police officer authorises the carrying out of
the procedure in accordance with section 9.
