21—Medical examination of claimant
(1) A claimant must,
if the Crown so requires, submit himself or herself for medical examination by
a medical practitioner nominated by the Crown.
(2) The costs of the
medical examination, and any expenses reasonably incurred by the claimant in
complying with the request for the examination, must be borne by the Crown.
(3) If an offender is
a party to proceedings under this Act, the court may, on application by the
offender, order a claimant to submit himself or herself for medical
examination by an appropriate medical practitioner (at the offender's
expense).
(4) The court may
order that the proceedings on an application for statutory compensation be
stayed until a medical examination has been completed.
(5) A party must, on
receiving the report of the medical practitioner on the results of the
examination, furnish the other parties with a copy of the report.
