194—Power to obtain information and evidence
(1) The Administrator
may, by notice in writing, require a person—
(a) to
give to the Administrator such information as the Administrator may require;
and
(b) to
attend before the Administrator, or a person authorised in writing by the
Administrator, and—
(i)
give evidence; and
(ii)
produce all documents in the possession of the person
notified,
relating to the exercise of the Administrator’s powers or the
performance of the Administrator’s duties under this Division.
(2) The Administrator,
or a person authorised in writing by the Administrator, may require the
information or evidence to be given on oath (and for that purpose may
administer an oath) and either orally or in writing.
(3) A person who
refuses or fails to comply with a requirement under this section is guilty of
an offence.
Maximum penalty: $2 500 or imprisonment for 6 months.
