97—Pecuniary penalty orders made in relation to serious offence
convictions
(1) A court must not
make a pecuniary penalty order in relation to a person’s conviction of a
serious offence until after the end of the period of 6 months commencing on
the conviction day.
(2) However, the court
may make a pecuniary penalty order in relation to the person’s
conviction when it passes sentence on the person.
(3)
Subsection (1) does not apply if the person is taken to have been
convicted of the serious offence because of section 5(1)(d).
