In this Chapter, unless the contrary intention appears –

animal has the same meaning as in the Biosecurity Act 2019 ;

serious animal disease means an animal disease, within the meaning of the Biosecurity Act 2019 , that is prohibited matter within the meaning of that Act;

serious animal disease agent means a disease agent, within the meaning of the Biosecurity Act 2019 , that is capable of causing a serious animal disease in an animal, animal product or animal food.
