In this chapter, unless the contrary intention appears appellant means any person convicted, or any prosecutor, who wishes to appeal under this chapter;Attorney-General includes an officer appointed to prosecute in any criminal proceeding;Court means the Court of Criminal Appeal;court of trial means the court before which an accused person has been tried upon an indictment, or the court which has passed sentence upon a plea of guilty;person convicted includes an accused person who, not having set up insanity as a defence, has been acquitted on the ground of insanity;Registrar means the Registrar of the Court appointed by this chapter;sentence includes any order made by the court of trial (a) for the keeping in custody of any person convicted;(b) with reference to any property; or(c) with reference to any moneys to be paid by a person convicted.
