POLICE OFFENCES ACT 1935 - SECT 37AA
Unlawfully setting fire to property
(1) A person who unlawfully sets fire to any property, and the fire
causes damage to any property, is guilty of an offence and is liable on
summary conviction to a fine not exceeding 100 penalty units or imprisonment
for a term not exceeding 2 years, or both.
(2) In subsection (1) property includes all property and vegetation to which Chapter XXXI of Part VI of the Criminal Code applies.
(3) A complaint made for the purposes of the Justices Act 1959 in
relation to an offence against subsection (1) is to be made within 12
months after the date of the offence.
