(1) If the Court is satisfied that the clamping, confiscation or forfeiture of a vehicle will cause severe hardship to a person, the Court may, instead of ordering the clamping, confiscation or forfeiture, order that (a) the vehicle be unclamped or returned to the registered operator or owner or to the offending driver; and(b) the person convicted of the prescribed offence perform not more than 240 hours of community service.(2) If the Court makes an order under subsection (1) , the vehicle must be unclamped or returned as soon as reasonably practicable.
