CRIMES (MENTAL IMPAIRMENT AND UNFITNESS TO BE TRIED) ACT 1997 - SECT 15
Purpose of special hearings
The purpose of a special hearing is to determine whether, on the evidence
available, the accused—
(a) is not guilty of the offence; or
(b) is not guilty of the offence
because of mental impairment; or
(c) committed the offence charged or
an offence available as an alternative.
