Western Australia LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL (Introduced by Hon. H. Hodgson MLC) Criminal Code Amendment Bill 2000 A Bill for An Act to amend the Criminal Code. The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows: 1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Criminal Code Amendment Act 5 2000. 2. Commencement This Act comes into operation on the day that it receives the Royal Assent. 3. The Code 10 In this Act "The Code" means The Criminal Code. page 1 8--1 Criminal Code Amendment Bill 2000 s. 4 4. Sections 400 and 401 amended Subsections 400(3), 400(4), 401(4), 401(5) and 401(6) of the Code are repealed. 5. Consequential amendment of the Criminal Code 5 Amendment Act (No. 2) 1996 To avoid doubt, subsection 4(3) and section 6 of the Criminal Code Amendment Act (No. 2) 1996 are repealed. 6. Termination of the operation of provisions of the Code repealed by this Act 10 To avoid doubt, subsections 401(4) and 401(5) of the Code are declared to have no function at the enactment of this Act and may not be used in the sentencing of any offender.
